Kanchan Kapoor's fashionable luncheon

Fashion with a conscience is perhaps the way to describe designer Ankita Chaudhry’s debut collection.
Having grown up in Leh, she was deeply troubled by last year’s flash flood, hence, her collection is her tribute to Leh. Kanchan Kapoor hosted the preview of her A/W ’11 collection over lunch at Forgetful Elephant recently.
Designer Preeti Ghai made a late entry at the event.One of Ankita’s close friends, she was excited about her work. “I am older than she is, but we’re still close. I’m happy to be with her on her big day”, she said. The event featured a photo-exhibit of Leh by the designer’s father which juxtaposed pictures of pre and post-flood Ladakh. The event also included monks from the Leh Buddha Lama association.
